Jerusalem, 2016
in Mikla’at (Heb. for plexus) I invited vocal artists to bring their practices into a creative conversation with me. They were performers, singers, choreographers visual and video artists who used the voice as material and subject matter and I wove these different gestures into a single coherent performative arch. The project seeks to position the voice as a subversive model for contemporary identity; a performative being that sounds, resounds and has the power to change reality. The first realization of the project was a common journey into the meandering folds and meanings of the voice with its personal, social and political implications. | Premiered in July 2016, Mazya Theatre Jerusalem | featuring: PELEPE, Nadav Bin - Nun, The Great Gehenna Choir, Abra Ensemble, Gony Paz, Tal Engelstein.
